CBOT Metals Complex Sets Volume Records

CHICAGO, IL, January 8, 2007 – The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced that trading in its Metals complex achieved all-time daily volume records on January 5, 2007. The CBOT’s Metals complex reached a volume of 115,590 contracts. The previous record, 103,697 contracts, was set on November 28, 2006.

In addition, the CBOT’s Metals complex futures volume set a new one-day high on January 5, 2007 with 114,183 contracts, eclipsing the previous record, 102,055 contracts, set on November 28, 2006.

CBOT Senior Vice President of Business Development, Robert D. Ray, said, “These new volume records represent the confidence and support our customers place in the CBOT Metals Complex. The marketplace respects the CBOT’s leadership and innovation in product and operational development. The CBOT was first to offer a fully electronic and transparent precious metals platform, the first to upgrade the delivery process with our Electronic Vault Delivery Receipt platform, and the first to implement 24-hour transitory Exchange for Physicals service and create directed fungibililty between our mini-sized and Full-sized metals contracts.”

JADE Crude Palm Oil Futures Contract Receives Regulatory Approval

Singapore, January 4, 2007 – Joint Asian Derivatives Exchange (JADE) is pleased to announce the approval by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) of its second product, Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Futures Contract.  In consultation with market participants, the CPO futures contract is targeted for launch in the first quarter of 2007.  Read full press release.

Advanced Technical Trading Strategies  
The CBOT will host an Advanced Technical Trading Strategies Workshop January 29 through February 2nd, 2007 with Dan Gramza.  This five day course will be held from 2:30pm to 5:30pm on each day and will examine standard and unique applications of a variety of technical trading techniques including various proprietary approaches. 
 
Two Day Ag Workshop               
The CBOT will host a full two-day Ag markets workshop on February12th and 13th, 2007.  The workshop will cover in detail a number of topics including the world Ag marketplace, grain flow, transportation, regulation, hedging, basis trading, spreads, market reports, and options.
 
Ag Options Workshop                     
The CBOT will host a one-day Ag options workshop on February 14th, 2007. The workshop will cover in detail a number of topics including the basics of options, fundamental properties of options, option pricing, Ag option strategies, and hedging with Ag options.
 
Advanced Market Profile Trading Strategies
Aadvanced Market Profile Trading Strategies Workshop will be held at the CBOT on February 26 through March 2nd, 2007 with Dan Gramza.  This five day course will be held from 2:30pm to 5:30pm on each day and will examine the market behavior behind price movement and long term market characteristics revealed by Market Profile.
 
Financial Options Workshop            
The CBOT will host a one-day Financial options workshop on March 14th, 2007 with Jay Sorkin.  The workshop will cover in detail a number of topics including the basics of options, fundamental properties of options, option pricing, and Financial option strategies.
 
Japanese Candle Trading Strategies
The CBOT will host a Japanese Candle Trading Strategies Workshop on March 26 through March 30, 2007 with Dan Gramza.  The workshop will be held each day from 2:30pm to 5:30pm at the CBOT.  In this comprehensive course, traditional patterns and formations of Japanese candle charting will be presented.
