Japanese Candle Trading Strategies

The CBOT will host a Japanese Candle Trading Strategies Workshop on March 26 through March 30, 2007 with Dan Gramza.  The workshop will be held each day from 2:30pm to 5:30pm at the CBOT.  In this comprehensive course, traditional patterns and formations of Japanese candle charting will be presented.  In addition a thorough examination will be given of the concepts and application of proprietary Japanese Candle Analysis techniques.  This includes the creation of critical trading parameters: what market conditions lead to the most profitable trades, how to determine magnitude objectives of different trading techniques, how to determine when a trade should become productive, how to identify when a trade is failing and where to place the risk management stop. 

Topics include:

●    New techniques to improve market timing when entering, exiting, increasing or decreasing a position

●    The structure of a Japanese candle

●    How to recognize and identify the basic Japanese candle building block formations

●    The role of price in a market trend               

●    Specific candle characteristics that reveal the strengths and weaknesses of market trend

●    Techniques that identify the balance and imbalance of buyer and seller dynamics that drive the market

●    Required market behavior before and after a Japanese candle pattern

●    How changing market conditions are identified through candle development

●    Global market conditions that influence Japanese candle patterns

●    New references for market acceptance or rejection at different price levels

●    The significance of Japanese candle patterns in a changing market environment

●    How to identify, analyze, and trade 54 reversal and 28 continuation patterns

●    How to create, identify and apply conservative and aggressive day and long term trading strategies

●    Detailed explanation of proprietary trading strategies using breakaways, springs, and upthrusts

Individual and class exercises will be used to how to apply these trading concepts to the markets selected by participants. Learn how these unique Japanese Candle Analysis techniques open a new dimension to trading by revealing the market dynamics that create the patterns - an invaluable key to market movement and direction.  This effective trading tool is applicable to all markets and a variety of different time frames and may be used alone or with conventional Western technical analysis.

At the completion of this dynamic course, you will be able to analyze your markets and identify trading opportunities using Japanese Candle Analysis, beginning with your next trading session.

About the instructor:

Daniel Gramza is President of Gramza Capital Management, Inc. and DMG Advisors, LLC.  He is a trader, international consultant, educator and the trading advisor to the St. Croix hedge fund.  He is published internationally and is completing two books "Trading in the Eye of the Storm" and” The Handbook of Japanese Candle Trading Strategies".  Daniel has appeared on CNN's "Moneyline" program, Reuters TV, Bloomberg TV and WCIU-TV in Chicago.  Daniel develops and presents public and private courses worldwide, and has presented courses to traders from over 20 exchanges, 350 institutions, and 30 countries.  Daniel was a member of the Chicago Rice and Cotton Exchange and an adjunct faculty member of the Illinois Institute of Technology's Master program in Financial Markets and Trading.  He earned a B.S. in Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. in International Finance from DePaul University, graduating with honors.
