NYMEX CBOT CME CME Group
Silver Market Recap Report for 9/30/2008

While silver was certainly dragged downward by gold, it should be noted that silver prices were weak early in the session despite the face that gold was higher. Some silver bulls have to be disappointed that the silver market didn't get the slightest glimmer of hope off the sharp recovery bounce in the equity market as that suggests the physical demand crowd is really pessimistic toward near term prospects. At least in the near term the silver market continues to act more like a flight to quality instrument than a physical or industrial commodity market.
