CME Group Seminar: Understanding Dairy Price Volatility
On Thursday, November 29, 2007, CME Group will welcome Dr. Mark Stephenson of Cornell University to discuss recent dairy price volatility including contributing factors, potential impacts of congressional decisions and variables that you should be watching to gauge the impact of these changes.

Basics of Futures and Options Trading - Available Online or In Class
In the Basics of Futures and Options Trading, students will explore a number of concepts and applications relating to the futures markets and the derivative products that trade on futures exchanges. The course will be taught by several instructors who possess significant academic as well as trading and industry experience. Topics covered will include: History and Development of Futures Exchanges, Electronic Trading, Regulation, Cash Markets and their Relationship to Futures Markets, the Business Entities that comprise the Futures Industry, Speculation, Hedging, and Options-Pricing, Strategies, and Applications.
Introduction to Electronic Trading - Available Online or In Class
The objective of this class is to provide the basic skills needed to trade futures contracts electronically. Individuals with limited knowledge of futures and electronic trading will benefit from the hands-on approach employed in this class. Students who attend in-class will be able to engage in simulated trading exercises on site. Students who attend online will be able to download the software to their computer in order to participate in these exercises. Topics to be discussed include: elimination of out trades, capability to trade multiple markets, position management, industry terminology, types of orders, and spread markets. Students will begin entering trades and become familiar with directional trades, legging spreads, counterbalancing trades, learing to control order flow, and applying discipline.
